Job Openings Senior Engineer

About the job Senior Engineer

The Electronics Hardware team within the Technology and Breakthrough Innovation group is seeking a Senior Engineer with in-depth technical expertise in analog circuit design, including high precision analog/other circuits used in signal conditioning and processing.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design high precision analog circuits used for signal conditioning and processing, including filters, amplifiers, ADC, DAC, power supply and other circuits as required
  • Design, model, simulate, test and troubleshoot analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power supply circuits
  • Prepare design specifications based on product requirements (sometimes rudimentary), DFMEA, test plans, test reports and all necessary documentation to capture the design choices and tradeoffs effectively and clearly
  • Perform research on customer needs and ‘connect-the-dots’ with technology to recommend new product ideas
  • Prepare new and innovative concepts and ‘pitch’ the ideas to all interested stakeholders
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and incubate new product concepts

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering required. MS degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience with and analog, digital, and power circuits. Some experience with embedded systems is preferred.
  • Experienced in sensor technologies and low level analog instrumentation in a noisy electrical environment
  • Experience in applying precision analog signal chain components (amplifiers, ADCs, other) on mixed-signal boards: power and ground distribution, analog and digital signal routing, input protection
  • Experience in precision analog signal chain analysis: error budget, dynamic range, analog and digital filters, component tolerances
  • Working knowledge of component reliability (FIT, MTBF, derating) is preferred
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation, and DFM/DFT techniques
  • Knowledge of other electrical engineering disciplines such as transmission lines and RF circuits is preferred
  • Knowledge or experience in designing digital and power circuits, high-speed circuit layout, energy storage and motion control, H-bridge circuitry, and various power circuit topologies such as buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, SEPIC and variant topologies, is preferred
  • Experience with high voltage/high power electronics is desirable
  • Expertise in P-Spice and other modeling /simulation tools; should be able to mentor others
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB is preferred
  • Proficiency with relevant lab instrumentation (scopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, network analyzers, phase meters, other)
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized, and productive with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and must be able to present to large audiences with varying degrees of technical backgrounds

Relevant Experience Required: 10+ years’ experience designing analog, digital and power circuits with in-depth expertise in analog circuits
