Key Responsibilities
As an Accounts Manager, your role will be broad and rewarding. You will:

Lead, mentor, and support junior staff, overseeing workflow and development
-
Act as the main contact for a portfolio of clients, building long-lasting relationships
-
Review and prepare financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
-
Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns and computations
-
Oversee VAT return preparation and submissions
-
Ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House filing requirements
-
Support clients with business set-up, from incorporation to HMRC registrations
-
Provide proactive advice to help clients improve profitability and reduce liabilities
-
Identify opportunities to offer additional services or support
-
Assist senior leadership with specialist and technical assignments
-
Ensure all work aligns with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements
What Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in an accountancy practice at manager level
-
Strong background in preparing accounts and tax returns for both companies and unincorporated businesses

ACA/ACCA/AAT qualification (or equivalent experience)

Confidence in managing client relationships and providing business advice
-
A proactive, supportive approach to team leadership
-
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ideally, cloud accounting platforms
