Position Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced NG911 Addressing Authority to play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of our next-generation 911 services. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with strong Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expertise and a commitment to public safety data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

GIS Data Management: Create, maintain, and update accurate and

comprehensive GIS data layers essential for NG911 functionality,

including street centerlines, address points, and jurisdictional

boundaries.

Location Data Audit & Maintenance: Proactively maintain and audit

NG911 location data records for our customer base to ensure

compliance with national and state NG911 standards. This involves

regular data quality control checks and system validation.

Customer & Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary point of

contact for customers and facility managers to coordinate, verify,

update, and certify NG911 location data for their premises.

Addressing Authority Duties: Perform the official duties of an

Addressing Authority for our customers, including verifying and

resolving official physical addresses according to established policy.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all

addressing changes, data audits, and customer interactions. Generate

reports on data quality and system readiness as required.

Policy Compliance: Ensure all addressing and GIS practices adhere to

relevant state (Alabama) and national (NENA) standards for Next

Generation 911 systems.

Qualifications Required

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working

with GIS data creation, analysis, and maintenance.

Technical Skills: Proven proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS software (e.g.,

ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap) and geodatabase management.

Data Quality Focus: Demonstrated experience in data auditing, quality

control, and ensuring high levels of data accuracy and integrity.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

with the ability to interface effectively with technical staff, customers,

and government agencies.

Highly Preferred

Addressing Authority Experience: Previous experience working as an

official Addressing Authority or in a similar addressing coordination

role for a municipality, county, or service provider.

NG911/Public Safety Experience: Direct experience with Public Safety

Answering Point (PSAP) operations or working specifically with NG911

data standards (e.g., MSAG, E911, and NENA standards).

Alabama Knowledge: Familiarity with Alabama's addressing standards,

municipal codes, and state-level NG911 initiatives.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Planning, Public

Administration, or a closely related field. (Relevant professional

experience may be substituted for a degree.)

Work Environment & Travel

This is an on-site position based in Hoover, AL, with regular regional travel expected to client sites. A valid state driver's license and a safe driving record are required.

Schedule

Standard Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to clear a background check, sex offender check and drug test to enter government facilities.
