About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in manufacturing finance and operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, driving financial accuracy, and ensuring effective cost management across production and supply chain. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

  • Develop and maintain standard costing systems, variance analysis, and cost accounting practices specific to manufacturing.

  • Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy.

  • Partner with operations and production teams to analyze efficiencies, waste, and cost drivers.

  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in compliance with GAAP.

  • Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and KPI dashboards to leadership.

  • Implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and high performance.

  • Support audits, tax filings, and banking relationships.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, ERP tools, and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred).

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory management.

  • Expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar preferred).

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
