JOB SUMMARY
The Production IE Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through the systematic analysis, design, and optimization of production processes. The role focuses on improving efficiency, productivity, capacity utilization, cost effectiveness, and quality while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and company policies. This position plays a critical role in continuous improvement initiatives and supports data-driven decision-making within the Production department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Conduct detailed time and motion studies, work measurement, and capacity analysis to establish standard times, line capacities, and manpower requirements.
- Identify production bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and non–value-added activities and recommend practical improvement solutions.
- Design and implement process improvements using Industrial Engineering tools such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and basic Six Sigma concepts.
- Develop, update, and maintain process flow diagrams, layouts, and standard work instructions in coordination with Production and Quality teams.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by optimizing labor utilization, material flow, and production methods without compromising quality or safety.
Production Planning and Line Support
- Review and analyze production schedules, routings, and workflows to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Support production line balancing activities to meet target output, cycle time, and efficiency goals.
- Monitor actual production performance versus standards and provide analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Assist Production Supervisors and Line Leaders in resolving operational issues that affect output, quality, or delivery timelines.
Quality, GMP, and Compliance Support
- Ensure that production processes comply with GMP, SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements, particularly in cosmetics manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams in addressing process-related quality issues, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Support waste reduction, yield improvement, and defect prevention initiatives.
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities related to process compliance.
New Product Introduction and Process Documentation
- Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) to understand new product formulations, equipment requirements, and quality parameters.
- Support the translation of R&D processes into scalable and efficient mass production processes.
- Document and validate new or revised process flows, work instructions, and line layouts prior to mass production.
- Assist in trial runs, pilot production, and process validation activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Warehouse, Quality, and Planning teams to ensure alignment on process improvements and operational changes.
- Prepare and present reports on productivity, efficiency, line performance, and improvement initiatives to management.
- Provide IE-related data and analysis to support management decision-making and operational planning
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG, cosmetics, or regulated industries.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Proficient in time and motion studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and basic continuous improvement methodologies
- Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and production data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar layout/design software is an advantage

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills for coordination with cross-functional teams
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Set-Up
- On-site role based at the manufacturing facility
- May require shifting schedules, including night shifts, weekends, or holidays, depending on production demands
- No travel required unless assigned for training or special projects
Unique Work Conditions
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab gowns, gloves, hairnets, and face masks
- Exposure to temperature-controlled production areas
- Work may involve prolonged standing, repetitive tasks, and coordination within active production environments
- Strict adherence to GMP, SOPs, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Close coordination with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other operational teams
