JOB SUMMARY
The IT Intern will assist the IT team in providing technical support, maintaining documentation, and managing IT assets. This role is ideal for students or fresh graduates who want hands-on experience in IT operations, troubleshooting, and enterprise support environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support / Helpdesk
- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support common applications such as Microsoft 365, email, collaboration tools, and internal systems.
- Log, track, and update support tickets in the helpdesk system.
Documentation
- Create and update IT documentation, user guides, FAQs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations and support processes.
- Assist in documenting incidents, resolutions, and best practices.
IT Asset Management
- Assist in tracking IT assets such as laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals.
- Maintain asset inventory records including issuance, returns, and damages.
- Support device setup, re-imaging, and basic configuration of new equipment.
- Help with tagging, labeling, and auditing IT assets.
General IT Support
- Assist in system maintenance tasks such as updates and patches.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees (account setup, device preparation).
- Provide basic training to end-users on IT tools and best practices.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/Wi-Fi, IP addressing).
- Experience with documentation tools (MS Word, SharePoint, or Confluence).
