JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Services Staff for Return to Seller (RTS) is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and documenting the condition of returned cosmetic products from customers or distributors. This role involves identifying quality-related issues, classifying returned items, and determining their appropriate disposition (e.g., rework, disposal, or restocking). The position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality by ensuring that all returned items are thoroughly assessed in accordance with company standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect returned cosmetic products (RTS) for conformance to quality standards, damage, contamination, packaging issues, or other defects.
  • Classify returned items based on predefined categories (e.g., good stock, reworkable, disposal).
  • Conduct physical and visual inspection of returned goods.
  • Document findings, including quantity, nature of defects, and source of return.
  • Prepare and submit RTS inspection reports to QS Team Leader & QS Manager for internal evaluation.
  • Ensure proper segregation, labeling, and storage of RTS materials pending disposition.
  • Assist in identifying trends in product complaints or returns for continuous quality improvement.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP), company SOPs, and applicable GMP regulations.


QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Senior High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • An associate degree or certification in a science or quality-related field is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing industries (not required but preferred)
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), product testing procedures, batch record review, and inspection protocols is advantageous

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to follow and interpret written procedures and protocols accurately.
  • Competent in accurate and timely documentation of inspection results.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel/Word, or ability to learn quality tracking software.
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies, defects, or deviations from standards during inspections.
  • Effective time management; able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cosmetic quality control, specifically in returned goods inspection.
  • High-performing probationary RTS QS staff may be considered for regularization.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and will be provided by the company as necessary.
  • Work is performed in an inspection room or warehouse environment.
  • Occasional lifting of boxes or handling of bulk returns.
