JOB SUMMARY

The Building Maintenance and Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the infrastructure, systems, and equipment of a manufacturing plant. The technician ensures that all facilities and utilities function efficiently and safely to support continuous manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct routine inspections of building infrastructure and equipment.
  • Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure smooth operation of support systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Install and maintain electrical components, wiring, controls and lighting systems, circuit breakers etc.
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
  • Support installation of new equipment, modifications, or plant expansions.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.
  • Keep tools, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
  • HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic or advanced knowledge in Motor Controls
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • EIM NC II Certification in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, or Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • PACU/CRE NC2 is a plus
  • Motor control nc2 is a plus
  • HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Solid understanding of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
  • Physically fit and able to work in various environmental conditions (hot, noisy, confined spaces, etc.)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to machinery noise, heat, chemicals, and dust.
  • May involve climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and working at heights or in tight spaces.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times.
