JOB SUMMARY
The Building Maintenance and Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the infrastructure, systems, and equipment of a manufacturing plant. The technician ensures that all facilities and utilities function efficiently and safely to support continuous manufacturing operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct routine inspections of building infrastructure and equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
- Ensure smooth operation of support systems
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Install and maintain electrical components, wiring, controls and lighting systems, circuit breakers etc.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
- Support installation of new equipment, modifications, or plant expansions.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.
- Keep tools, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
- HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- Basic or advanced knowledge in Motor Controls
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
- EIM NC II Certification in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, or Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent).
- PACU/CRE NC2 is a plus
- Motor control nc2 is a plus
- HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Solid understanding of building systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
- Physically fit and able to work in various environmental conditions (hot, noisy, confined spaces, etc.)
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to machinery noise, heat, chemicals, and dust.
- May involve climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and working at heights or in tight spaces.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times.
