About the job RTR Accountant (German-speaking)

At Destination Workplace, we believe that the right job is the key to a fulfilling life, and the right person is the driving force behind every successful business.

We are here to connect talent with the appropriate role.

One of our international clients is expanding its Finance team and is looking for a German-speaking RTR Analyst (Record-to-Report). This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, international environment and contribute to high-quality accounting operations within a growing shared services organization.

About the role

This role performs core accounting tasks, reconciliations, month-end close activities and reporting to agreed deadlines, while supporting the transition and stabilization of processes moving into the shared services organization. Strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail and a controls-focused approach are required.

Primary responsibilities of the role:

  • Prepare and post routine and ad hoc journal entries (accruals, provisions, reclasses, recharges, etc.).
  • Reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts including balance sheet items, bank/clearing, payroll/tax, intercompany, fixed assets and leases.
  • Drive month-end, quarter-end and year-end close tasks on schedule, providing supporting documentation and reconciliations.
  • Compile schedules, reporting inputs and upload files for local and group reporting requirements.
  • Investigate and clear open items and aged reconciling differences with local finance and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and execute required Record-to-Report controls; keep audit-ready documentation for journals, reconciliations and close activities.
  • Flag and escalate risks, late inputs or policy deviations early with facts and remedial proposals.
  • Support audit, tax and statutory requests with schedules and explanations.
  • Help onboard processes into the shared service: document procedures, build checklists and transfer knowledge.
  • Suggest process improvements, standardisation or automation opportunities and collaborate with adjacent teams (PTP, OTC, Payroll, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Group Reporting).

Desired skills and experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; part-qualified accountants welcome.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance within an SSC/BPO environment.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting rules; comfortable following documented policies and procedures.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems — SAP is a plus. Exposure to reporting/reconciliation tools is advantageous.
  • Fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools (e.g. for data analysis, reconciliations or document handling) is considered an advantage.

The company is offering:

  • Competitive salary package.
  • Additional health insurance and social benefits.
  • Hybrid work model.
  • Collaborative, international team culture.
