Accounts Payable Accountant with German

Our partner is a global company with a newly established Shared Services Center in Sofia. We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Expert to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure smooth financial operations and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately check and process all incoming invoices;
• Posting of bank statements and accounts payable transactions;
• Evaluate VAT and ensure all transactions comply with company and legal requirements;
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve billing questions or differences;
• Booking and verification of travel expenses in line with company policies;
• Posting accrual-related business transactions and general ledger entries;
• Support in accounts receivable activities (advantageous);
• Assist in financial reporting, audits, and month-end closing activities.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
• 2–5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, with strong accounts payable and bank posting knowledge;
• Understanding of VAT regulations, accruals, general ledger entries, and accounting standards;
• Initial exposure to accounts receivable and reporting is an advantage;
• Strong skills in Excel and other office applications;
• Fluent in German (C1) and proficient in English (B2);
• Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable working style;
• Strong interest in digital transformation and process improvement.
