Our partner is a leading global organization in the chemical and manufacturing industry.

For their internal needs we are looking to welcome a skilled professional to join their team as a an Accounting Specialist. At this role will manage end-to-end lease and inventory accounting activities within an SSC environment to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with IFRS/statutory requirements, and strong internal controls. Support month‑end/year‑end close, audits, system improvements and cross‑functional collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Maintain lease contracts, master data and lease accounting (IFRS16/ASC842); validate calculations and IBRs.
  • Handle end‑to‑end inventory accounting: product costing, FIFO/LCM valuation, material ledger and GR/IR.
  • Prepare monthly journals, reconciliations and support month‑end/year‑end close.
  • Resolve discrepancies, post adjustments and support audits and internal controls.
  • Produce lease and inventory reports for financial and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Finance.
  • Support system implementations, testing, process improvements and automation.
  • Strong ERP/SAP (FI/CO/MM/material ledger/GR‑IR), Excel and analytical skills.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years accounting/finance experience, including lease accounting and inventory/cost accounting in an SSC or shared‑services environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP (FI/CO/MM/material ledger/GR‑IR) and lease accounting systems (e.g., Lease Accelerator).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 16/ASC 842; familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP, statutory reporting and inventory controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical mindset, and experience with reconciliations and month‑end close.
  • Fluent in English; additional language (German, French or Spanish) is andvantage.
