Job Openings Construction Manager - Installation of Steel Frames

About the job Construction Manager - Installation of Steel Frames

If you're an operational leader who thrives on structure, accountability, and improving site performance, this role oversees the complete installation, rectification, and maintenance functions for a growing steel-framing business. The organisation delivers light-gauge steel framing systems across SEQ and is strengthening its installation division to support continued growth.

This position leads all day-to-day execution across installation projects, including scheduling, site readiness, safety systems, DIFOT performance, artistry standards, rectifications and certification. The focus is on predictable delivery, disciplined planning, and building strong relationships with builders, certifiers, and internal teams.

A significant part of the role involves improving coordination between design, production and site. Early escalation, proactive communication and structured problem-solving are essential. Root-cause analysis is expected to prevent recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.

Quality leadership is central. The Construction Manager conducts monthly quality audits, ensures non-conformances are closed out before handover, enforces compliance with standards and maintains accountability for both safety and workmanship across teams.

The role also carries financial responsibility through labour allocation, forecasting, cost tracking and productivity management. Customer relationships are equally important: resolving issues early, delivering on commitments, and reinforcing reliability and trust with builders.

Leadership capability is critical. The position develops supervisors, sets clear behavioural and performance expectations and builds an accountable team capable of independently managing day-to-day site issues. It suits someone who enjoys coaching, setting standards and creating a high-performing operational rhythm.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in steel framing installation, carpentry, construction operations or environments where quality, safety and predictable delivery are essential. The right person will bring strong WHS discipline, commercial awareness, confident communication and a practical, steady leadership style.
