Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Front of House Manager with extensive bar expertise to lead guest-facing operations at a high-end restaurant in South Bend, Indiana. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in an upscale environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service while elevating the bar program.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a deep knowledge of cocktails, wine, and spirits, and a proven ability to drive both service excellence and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all front-of-house operations, including dining room and bar service
- Lead, train, and mentor FOH staff, with a strong emphasis on bar team development
- Maintain exceptional guest service standards and resolve guest concerns promptly
- Manage daily service flow, reservations, and floor operations
- Oversee bar program execution, including cocktail consistency, presentation, and speed of service
- Collaborate with leadership on beverage menu development and seasonal offerings
- Monitor and control labor and beverage costs to meet financial targets
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations
- Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for bar operations
- Drive sales through upselling strategies, staff education, and guest engagement
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Front of House Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Bar Manager in an upscale or high-volume environment
- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and current beverage trends
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting
- Financial acumen, including cost control, inventory management, and labor optimization
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a guest-first mindset
- Certification in alcohol service (or ability to obtain) preferred
