About the job Senior Technical Project Manager
This role owns delivery of complex EMV credit and debit card initiatives across key accounts. The Senior Project Manager leads large, cross functional programs that span technology, operations, analytics, and external partners. The role carries end to end accountability for execution, risk management, and customer outcomes, with direct exposure to senior client and internal leadership.
What You Will Do
- Lead EMV card program initiatives from concept through launch and post implementation support.
- Own end to end delivery of complex payment and operations programs with multiple internal teams and external partners.
- Manage EMV integrations across processors, acquirers, gateways, and payment facilitators.
- Coordinate technology, operations, compliance, and analytics workstreams to ensure aligned execution.
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and risk registers.
- Apply Agile delivery practices where appropriate, alongside structured waterfall approaches.
- Drive process improvements that reduce operational risk and improve delivery efficiency.
- Delegate and manage work across technical, operational, compliance, and business teams.
- Act as the primary customer facing contact for assigned programs, managing communication, scope, and expectations.
- Partner with Sales and Account Management on onboarding, active projects, issue resolution, and ongoing account needs.
- Own customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle, with accountability for timelines and commitments.
- Deliver clear executive level status reporting, insights, and decision support.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and cross team dependencies.
- Ensure adherence to PCI, EMVCo, and card network requirements.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of project or program management experience leading large, cross functional initiatives.
- Deep hands on experience with EMV credit and debit card programs
- Strong understanding of the payment card ecosystem, including processors, acquirers, gateways, and facilitators.
- Experience managing multi stakeholder engagements across consulting and industry environments.
- Proven ability to coordinate technology, operations, and analytics teams.
- Practical experience with Agile delivery, risk management, and process improvement.
- Strong executive communication skills, including presentation and written reporting.
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into structured plans with measurable outcomes.
- PMP, PGMP, or similar certification preferred.
- Background in fintech, or payments technology.
