Our client is a Vertical SaaS company seeking a Payments Sales Manager to lead its Payments Account Executive team and drive new merchant acquisition, revenue growth, and payments attach across its SaaS customer base. This role is responsible for managing the payments sales cycle from demo through customer activation, coaching Account Executives to consistent performance, and strengthening a scalable payments sales engine. The person in this role works directly for the client and partners closely with Payments Operations, Marketing, Revenue Operations, the SDR organization, and senior payments leadership to improve conversion, forecasting, onboarding, and sales execution.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Payments Account Executive team through pipeline reviews, deal coaching, call shadowing, and performance management.
  • Oversee the team's execution of the full payments sales cycle, including qualification, demo, pricing, application, close, and customer activation.
  • Own team revenue and attach rate targets, monitor performance against key metrics, and implement action plans to address gaps.
  • Partner with the Payments SDR Manager to improve lead quality, handoff processes, feedback loops, and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with the EVP of Payments and Revenue Operations on pipeline forecasting, reporting, and sales strategy refinement.
  • Work closely with Payments Operations to support merchant onboarding after close and resolve escalations impacting pipeline or retention.
  • Lead the Payments Special Operations function, including wallet share expansion, activation recovery, dormant reactivation, and churn prevention initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing on campaign execution, sales collateral, and competitive positioning.
  • Use market trends, competitive intelligence, and client feedback to improve the payments sales approach.
  • Recruit and onboard new Account Executive talent as the team scales.
  • Build a performance culture with clear accountability and recognition.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation standards and enforce pipeline hygiene across the Account Executive team.
  • Engage directly on strategic and high-stakes deals alongside Account Executives.
  • Make clear, timely performance decisions and hold reps accountable to defined standards.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in payments sales.
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales management or a team lead capacity.
  • Experience managing quota-carrying sales teams and consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of integrated payments, merchant processing, and software-led payments sales.
  • SaaS sales experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • CRM proficiency, with Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Operations, Marketing, and Product.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong initiative and sound decision-making ability.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
