About the job Head of Payments

Our client, a leading GovTech provider, is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee and expand their payments business. The Head of Payments will lead the payments business unit and is responsible for strategy, operations, and growth. This role partners with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to expand adoption, improve performance, and drive profitability. The ideal candidate has experience scaling payment products or platforms in B2G or B2C environments and a proven record of owning P&L and delivering measurable results.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the payments business unit with full P&L ownership
  • Build and execute a growth plan to strengthen leadership in public sector payments
  • Partner with Product to consolidate multiple payment products into a unified platform
  • Define and track KPIs and performance metrics to drive accountability and results
  • Work with Sales to expand pipeline and increase new customer acquisition
  • Manage and optimize processor and vendor relationships for cost and performance
  • Identify and remove operational barriers that limit scale or efficiency
  • Align Product, Engineering, and Finance around growth goals and execution



What You Bring

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience, including 3+ years in a vertical SaaS payments organization
  • Experience building and scaling payment products or platforms in B2G or B2C markets
  • Proven success owning P&L and managing operational and financial performance
  • Understanding of payment flows, pricing structures, and processor management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to influence across Product, Sales, Engineering, and Finance
  • Analytical mindset with fluency in payments metrics and reporting
