This executive role defines the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the debit card business while driving profitable growth, strong customer engagement, and portfolio performance. The position owns the debit card P&L and leads a team responsible for delivering product initiatives that strengthen the debit portfolio. The role partners extensively across marketing, technology, risk, operations, and analytics to deliver strategic initiatives and navigate evolving regulatory and market conditions while serving as a key advisor to enterprise payments leadership on strategy development and execution.
What You Will Do:
- Own the P&L for the debit card business and ensure annual financial targets and budget goals are achieved.
- Lead, hire, coach, and develop a team of product managers responsible for debit card initiatives and portfolio performance.
- Define the long term vision, strategy, and product roadmap for the debit card portfolio.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities that drive profitable growth and enhance the customer experience.
- Lead cross functional work groups to evaluate, prioritize, and implement initiatives addressing regulatory changes and market developments.
- Partner with leaders across Marketing, IT, Customer Service, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Branch, Operations, Finance, Analytics, and Customer Advocacy to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Develop business cases, product roadmaps, and supporting materials for new product initiatives and feature enhancements.
- Review and recommend changes to existing debit product features, benefits, and new product offerings to optimize profitability.
- Develop reporting and performance monitoring to evaluate portfolio performance and measure the success of key initiatives.
- Leverage data and analytics to uncover opportunities, evaluate product performance, and inform decision making.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends and competitor activity to support product strategy and innovation.
- Partner with Marketing to develop customer communication strategies that improve engagement and product adoption.
- Communicate product vision and influence senior stakeholders across the organization.
- Provide product expertise to support the resolution of customer issues related to debit card products.
- Ensure adherence to risk management principles and maintain accountability for compliance, audit performance, and regulatory requirements related to the debit card product.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise payments leadership during product strategy development and execution.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in card or related payment products.
- Experience working with third party processor platforms and card network partners.
- Demonstrated experience in product development, forecasting, business case development, strategic planning, project management, and implementation.
- Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to influence stakeholders through strong interpersonal and negotiation capabilities.
- Experience analyzing risk and complex situations, determining appropriate actions, and recommending solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with understanding of major revenue drivers in the card business.
- Experience attracting, building, and developing teams of product and forecasting managers.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements related to card and payment products.
