Senior Payments Risk Manager - Foundational Risk and Regulatory Compliance

The Senior Risk Manager will have deep experience in financial services and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for managing foundational risk programs, leading regulatory exam readiness efforts, and improving enterprise risk oversight. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, deep knowledge of banking regulations, and a hands-on approach to problem solving and process improvement.

What You Will Do:

• Lead execution of foundational risk programs, including RCSA, issue management, and control testing
• Coordinate regulatory exams and internal audits across business lines
• Serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
• Oversee remediation of audit and regulatory findings with timely, sustainable solutions
• Deliver risk reporting and emerging risk insights to senior leadership and board committees
• Escalate emerging risks and provide ongoing guidance to business units
• Refine internal controls to meet enterprise risk and compliance expectations
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Audit to align on regulatory strategy and messaging
• Stay current on regulatory changes and assess impacts on risk frameworks

What You Bring:

• 10+ years in financial services or banking with a focus on risk and regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of OCC, FRB, FDIC, Basel III, BSA/AML, and FATCA requirements
• Proven experience leading RCSA, control testing, audit response, and issue remediation
• Skilled in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and Archer for risk reporting and analytics
• Ability to manage regulatory interactions and represent the function with confidence
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially with senior stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working across teams to influence outcomes and support a risk-aware culture
• Experience working in a payments organization of a financial institution
