Our client, a publicly traded technology company that delivers integrated software, hardware, and payment solutions to power commerce solutions, is seeking a Managing Director to lead the strategy, operations, and growth of its in house digital marketing services business. This role has full responsibility for agency performance, including team leadership, client delivery, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. The Managing Director will own the entire client lifecycle from business development through delivery and renewal, while driving strong financial results. This leader will balance strategic direction with hands on operational execution to scale the organization effectively.
What You Will Do
- Set and lead the strategic direction of the agency in alignment with business goals and translate strategy into measurable execution plans.
- Drive accountability for performance, quality, and results across all functions.
- Maintain visibility into all client work and oversee resource planning and capacity management to ensure balanced workloads and appropriate staffing.
- Identify and resolve operational risks, bottlenecks, and delivery challenges, particularly during periods of growth or change.
- Lead team leaders across account management, project management, social media, content, design, development, SEO, analytics, and paid media, clarifying roles and expectations.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development across the organization.
- Lead business development efforts in partnership with internal sales teams and own the pipeline for new and existing clients.
- Support pricing, scoping, proposal development, and ensure smooth transition from sales to onboarding and delivery.
- Oversee the full client lifecycle, serve as an escalation point for scope, deliverables, or billing issues, and drive client retention and expansion.
- Own financial performance including revenue growth, retention, utilization, forecasting, and KPI tracking to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
What You Bring
- 7 or more years of experience in a digital agency or professional services leadership role.
- Prior experience operating a full service marketing agency.
- Experience leading or owning a business unit with responsibility for revenue, margins, and overall performance.
- Proven ability to lead and scale cross functional teams across creative, technical, and client facing disciplines.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing services including websites, SEO, content, social media, and paid media.
- Experience owning revenue, managing pipeline, and leading client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to scale operations and improve delivery processes.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
