About the job Head of Sponsorship
Our client is seeking a General Manager of Sponsorship to lead and further build a sponsorship offering across acquiring and money movement. This role will shape go to market strategy, drive revenue growth, and strengthen alignment across product, risk, finance, compliance, and business priorities. The position will play a critical role in advancing the sponsorship suite while maintaining regulatory alignment. The ideal candidate brings deep sponsorship expertise.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and execute the go to market strategy for sponsorship products across acquiring, issuing, and money movement, including direct and hybrid models.
- Guide the ongoing evolution of the sponsorship offering across strategy, execution, and market positioning
- Align cross functional stakeholders across risk, finance, compliance, product, sales, and marketing to support execution and business goals.
- Ensure strong connectivity between acquiring functions to support a frictionless customer experience.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities to build pipeline and drive revenue growth.
- Partner with marketing, sales, product, risk, compliance, operations, engineering, and external partners to deliver scalable, reliable, and compliant payment solutions.
- Oversee the development and integration of sponsorship products.
- Drive a cohesive experience within the sponsorship suite.
- Translate payments market dynamics, regulatory considerations, and customer use cases into clear product strategy, roadmaps, and scalable solutions across traditional and next generation offerings.
- Set KPIs to track performance against business and growth objectives.
What You Bring:
- Experience in payments sponsorship with proven expertise in go to market strategy and commercialization.
- Deep expertise across acquiring sponsorship models.
- Strong understanding of acquiring, issuing, and money movement within financial services.
- Proven ability to translate payments market dynamics, regulatory considerations, and customer use cases into clear product strategy, roadmaps, and scalable solutions across traditional and next generation offerings.
- Track record of aligning cross functional internal groups, including risk, finance, compliance, product, operations, and engineering, to move initiatives forward.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with risk, compliance, and product teams to support regulatory adherence.
- Familiarity with AML, KYC, OFAC, and related industry regulations.
- Strong business acumen with a strategic focus on revenue growth and market expansion.
