About the job Sales Trainer
The Sales Trainer will lead the design and delivery of programs that equip sales and client-facing teams, ISOs, and agents with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to position payment solutions effectively. This role bridges Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure alignment across messaging, materials, and execution.
What You Will Do:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Sales, Product, and Marketing leadership to align training with business goals and sales strategy.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive payments training roadmap covering markets, products, competition, sales methodology, and consultative selling.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge, process, or performance, then design and deliver blended learning programs, including live classroom sessions, webinars, and digital content.
- Create and maintain educational materials such as case studies, product collateral, competitive fact sheets, and assessments supported by visual aids and other resources.
- Facilitate ongoing training for internal sales teams, ISOs, and agents on payment topics such as surcharging, dual pricing, cash discounting, CRM tools, and merchant statement analysis.
- Deliver engaging live and virtual presentations, including webinars, tailored to audience experience and training objectives.
- Ensure training programs reinforce best practices in solution selling, customer engagement, and sales effectiveness.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, refining programs and developing metrics that measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead internal training initiatives for new hire orientation, product training, presentation skills, phone selling skills, and broader Sales Function talent development.
- Develop coaching plans based on observations to strengthen sales engagement and support adoption of new tools or processes across the organization.
What You Bring:
- 5 or more years of experience developing and delivering training for high-performing sales teams within financial services or payments.
- Proven success designing and executing virtual and live training in sales development, customer engagement, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate webinars and virtual learning sessions with diverse audiences.
- Understanding of merchant statements, pricing structures, and how payment economics impact sales strategies.
- Experience facilitating learning programs and implementing comprehensive learning strategies.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a focus on clarity and impact.
- Experience managing the full training lifecycle using adult learning principles and modern instructional techniques.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
