About the job Project Manager - payments
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to support the development and launch of a payments platform with direct coordination across card brands, acquiring partners, financial institutions, and internal teams. This role will manage key workstreams tied to onboarding external partners, establishing service agreements, coordinating implementation activities, and driving project execution across business and technology stakeholders. The position requires strong knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including card brand processes, operational requirements, and partner coordination. This individual will play a central role in laying the operational and project foundation for platform growth and long term scalability.
What You Will Do:
· Manage projects tied to the development and implementation of a payments platform.
· Coordinate directly with card brands, acquirers, banks, associations, processors, and external partners to initiate and manage service agreements.
· Drive project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
· Partner closely with development, product, operations, and business teams to support platform initiatives.
· Track project status, identify risks, and escalate issues impacting timelines or deliverables.
· Coordinate onboarding and implementation activities with external payments partners.
· Support the operational groundwork required for platform expansion and partner integrations.
· Maintain project documentation, implementation plans, and partner communication records.
· Facilitate meetings and cross functional coordination between internal stakeholders and external partners.
· Ensure projects move forward in alignment with business priorities and implementation schedules.
What You Bring:
· Experience managing projects within the merchant acquiring space.
· Experience working directly with card brands, acquiring partners, banks, processors, or payment associations.
· Knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including partner integrations and implementation processes.
· Experience coordinating cross functional initiatives involving business and technology teams.
· Strong project management and organizational skills.
· Experience managing timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and external partner communication.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment.
