About the job Structural Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop structural plans and designs, and drawings for other construction personnel to follow.
- Oversee the building and creation of structures and frames.
- Analyze and make changes to ongoing projects as they move onward to ensure the safety of structures being built.
- Work in line with local building codes, considering flooding, fire safety measures, and other variables such as wind tunnels and surface quality.
- Inspect and analyze existing buildings to determine their safety or viability to be made safe again.
- Make recommendations to close or demolish unsafe buildings if deemed unsafe to habitation or a risk to the local community.
- Make plans to renovate listed buildings that may need original restoration work.
- Work in line with health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Experienced in managing and executing design and engineering projects for industrial buildings, manufacturing facilities, and chemical plants with steel and concrete structures
- Bachelors degree or above in Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated at least 3 years experience in a structural engineering role.
- Ability to use : SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, STAAD.
- Strong ability in drawing, designing, and creating diagrams, blueprints, and drawings.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
- Good report writing skills.
- Strong manual dexterity
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize own time and workload.
