About the job Cost Engineer (Architectural)
Role & Responsibility
- Prepare and review cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for architectural scope
(finishing, partitions, ceilings, doors, etc.)
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and revisions to update estimates and budgets.
- Manage and track change orders related to architectural work, including cost impact evaluations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, and Design teams to monitor and control costs.
- Monitor actual costs vs. budgets and provide cost variance analysis and forecasts.
- Support contract negotiations by providing detailed breakdowns of architectural costs.
- Review and validate subcontractor payment applications and assist in cost reconciliation.
- Participate in progress meetings, maintain detailed cost records, and prepare regular cost reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering or estimating in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of architectural construction scope, materials, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, Timberline, Sage, CostX, or equivalent).
- Experience in change management, takeoff tools, and cost tracking systems.
- Familiarity with construction contracts (e.g., AIA, FIDIC, GMP, Cost-plus, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative on-site environment.
Preferred
- Experience in High-Tech Facility construction (e.g. semiconductor Fab, Data center.)
- Bilingual (English, Korean) preferred but it is just optional.
