Lead Platform Engineer - Computer Vision

Our client is on the lookout for a Lead Platform Engineer who is highly skilled and motivated to join their team and help drive their innovative technology forward.

As the Lead Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of their computer vision platform. This includes managing a team of engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the platform meets our high standards of performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain their computer vision platform

- Define and drive the technical direction of the platform, ensuring it aligns with their company's goals and objectives

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions that meet business needs

- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of the platform

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in computer vision technology

- Mentor and coach team members, providing technical guidance and support

- Conduct regular code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices are maintained

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as they arise

- Collaborate with product management to prioritise and plan platform features and enhancements

- Monitor and analyse platform performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions

- Ensure the platform meets security and compliance standards

- Communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders and senior management

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on platform development and architecture

- Strong understanding of computer vision principles and techniques

- Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)

- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

- Proven track record of leading and managing a team of engineers

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
