We are seeking an experienced Pipe Yard Supervisor to oversee day-to-day yard operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality service. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and hands-on knowledge of pipe yard operations.

Position Summary

The Pipe Yard Supervisor will be responsible for managing personnel, equipment, and materials in a fast-paced yard environment. This includes supervising loading/unloading, storage, maintenance, and movement of pipe and related materials while enforcing company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily yard operations, including receiving, handling, storing, and shipping pipe and related products.

  • Ensure all employees follow proper safety protocols and company procedures.

  • Plan and assign work schedules, monitor performance, and provide training/coaching as needed.

  • Inspect pipe, equipment, and yard operations to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, and operations teams to meet production schedules.

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and yard activity.

  • Operate or oversee the use of heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes, loaders, etc.) safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and audits.

  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment, materials, or personnel and implement corrective actions.

  • Communicate with management regarding yard productivity, staffing needs, and operational concerns.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or technical degree preferred).

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of pipe yard, warehouse, or industrial operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

  • Strong understanding of pipe handling, storage, and inspection procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical documents.

  • Proficient in using basic computer systems for reporting and inventory tracking.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety standards.

  • Forklift/crane operator certification preferred.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirement

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends as operational needs require.

  • Flexible scheduling is essential to ensure continuous supervision and support of pipe yard operations.

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing in outdoor environments.

  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and industrial settings.

  • Pay negotiable based on experience
