Position Summary

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform repair and maintenance on forklifts, heavy equipment, and trucks. This role involves diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in accordance with factory and industry standards, while working closely with other team members to meet company goals.

Responsibilities

• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications.

• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.

• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.

• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine necessary repairs.

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.

• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.

• Examine parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.

• Schedule maintenance for machines/equipment and maintain service records.

• Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.

• Overhaul and test machines/equipment to ensure operating efficiency.

• Adjust, maintain, and repair subassemblies such as transmissions, hydraulics, and crawler heads.

• Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using control and regulating devices.

• Follow all safety precautions and wear PPE at all times.

• Cross-train on alternate assignments and assist in other work areas as needed.

• Maintain housekeeping in the assigned work area.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of diesel mechanic experience.

• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Stable work history and reliable transportation.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

• Positive attitude; strong team player.

• Ability to work flexible/extended hours and weekends (typical schedule: 45 hours).

• Commitment to working safely and following all policies/procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently exert up to 100 lbs of force to push/pull objects.

• Work involves long periods of standing, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching; may include climbing.

• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).

• Good manual dexterity, steady hand/arm coordination, and precise finger movements.

• Normal vision and hearing required.
