Yard Mechanic / Equipment Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Yard Mechanic / Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical and welding duties for the repair and maintenance of yard equipment, trucks, and tractors. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment, trucks, and tractors (PM service).

• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and backhoe equipment.

• Rebuild machinery using pneumatic tools.

• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.

• Perform welding duties for yard and equipment repairs.

• Wash and clean equipment; maintain a clean mechanic shop.

• Assist in moving equipment to and from trucks.

• Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Follow all safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of diesel engines, backhoe equipment, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

• Experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance (PM service).

• Ability to read technical schematics and diagrams.

• Welding experience required.

• Must pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all climates.

• Exposed to loud noise and dusty environments.

• Must be able to climb up to 40 feet and stoop, bend, or kneel for inspections.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Full mobility of hands is required.
