Construction Estimator (HeavyBid) – Vertical Construction
Tomball, TX
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with strong HeavyBid software experience and a background in vertical construction to join a growing construction team in the Tomball, TX area. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing construction documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
The ideal candidate will have experience estimating commercial or large-scale vertical construction projects and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight bid deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed construction cost estimates using HeavyBid.
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed pricing strategies.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to develop accurate project budgets.
- Identify potential cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and schedule impacts.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing information.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and project planning sessions.
- Prepare bid packages and assist with proposal submissions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in construction estimating.
- Required experience with HeavyBid.
- Proven experience estimating vertical construction projects (commercial, structural, or building construction).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
- Proficiency in Excel and construction estimating tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating commercial construction projects.
- Experience with large-scale project budgets and bid preparation.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
