Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Cook to support kitchen operations for one of our hospitality clients. This role is ideal for a hands-on culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in food quality, and can lead by example on the line.

The Senior Cook will play a key role in daily food preparation, execution, and kitchen organization, while supporting junior staff and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Support daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service during peak hours
  • Assist with menu execution and provide input on new dishes or seasonal items when needed
  • Help train, guide, and support line cooks and kitchen assistants
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas
  • Assist with inventory control, prep planning, and minimizing food waste
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and front-of-house teams
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and portioning
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and service demands

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a professional kitchen
  • Previous experience in a lead or senior cook role is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
