We are seeking experienced Industrial Pipe Yard Combo Welders to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical skills, welding proficiency, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety.

Position Summary

The Combo Welder/Fitter is responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating a variety of pipe and structural components in accordance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards. This role requires a strong ability to interpret blueprints and drawings, perform precise fit-up work, and operate multiple welding processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding using MIG (metal core), flux core, sub-arc, TIG, and/or stick processes (must pass at least two).

• Weld and fabricate various types of pipe and structural components, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials.

• Read and interpret P&ID drawings, blueprints, and layout drawings to determine welding and fitting procedures.

• Conduct fit-up, layout, and marking using measuring instruments, squares, scribes, and templates.

• Operate flame and plasma cutting torches, grinders, and basic cutting equipment.

• Inspect and test completed welds to ensure structural soundness and compliance with standards.

• Safely operate tools and equipment including iron worker, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machines, tube bending machines, welding machines, and pneumatic hand tools.

• Assemble and fabricate job-related components as required.

• Maintain accurate records and follow all safety regulations.

Required Testing

• Must pass a 6G weld test (pipe or vessel).

• Must pass a written fitter's exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding school or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.

• Minimum 6 months -2+ years of combo pipe welding / Pay based on experience.

• Valid welding certifications (ASME, API, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and specifications.

• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.; frequent lifting/carrying of objects up to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to bend, squat, climb, pull, stoop, twist, and reach.
