We are looking for an experienced VAS / Messaging Engineer with strong expertise in telecom messaging platforms and value-added services environments. The role will involve supporting, implementing, and maintaining carrier-grade messaging platforms used in mobile telecom networks.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with messaging infrastructure, telecom signalling protocols, and operational support within large-scale telecom environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain telecom messaging platforms used for SMS and IP messaging services
• Participate in the design, implementation, and integration of VAS messaging solutions
• Perform troubleshooting and incident resolution for messaging platforms and related services
• Support platform upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes
• Monitor system performance, alarms, and service KPIs to ensure high availability
• Analyse logs, traffic flows, and signalling behaviour to identify and resolve issues
• Work with vendors and cross-functional teams during deployments and operational activities
• Participate in change management, incident management, and operational support processes
• Contribute to service improvements and operational efficiency initiatives

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with telecom VAS and messaging platforms such as SMSC, RCS, messaging gateways, or similar messaging infrastructure
• Experience working with messaging platform vendors such as Mavenir, Xura, ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson, or similar
• Good understanding of telecom signalling and messaging protocols including SMPP, SIGTRAN, SIP, GSM MAP, SS7, SCCP, and TCP/IP
• Experience troubleshooting messaging services in carrier-grade telecom environments
• Experience working with Linux or Unix based systems
• Ability to analyse logs, system alarms, and messaging traffic flows
• Exposure to REST or SOAP APIs and integration with external systems
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk, Nagios, or similar NMS platforms
• Good understanding of telecom network architecture and messaging service flows
• Familiarity with IT service management processes such as incident, problem, and change management

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in telecom VAS, messaging, or core telecom service environments
• Proven experience supporting or implementing SMSC, messaging gateways, or messaging platforms in mobile network environments
• Experience working with telecom operators, vendors, or managed services environments
• Experience in L2/L3 operational support and troubleshooting of telecom platforms
• Experience working in production environments requiring high availability and reliability
• Experience collaborating with network, core, and IT teams for service delivery and troubleshooting
