Role Overview

A dedicated shuttle operation in Lafayette, IN is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for a local shuttle and flatbed position hauling CAT engines, radiators, gensets, and related freight between Lafayette and Monticello, IN.

This position offers consistent weekday schedules, home weekly opportunities, modern equipment, and a strong bonus structure. Drivers will haul specialized freight using double drop trailers while operating short round-trip shuttle routes throughout the workweek.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport CAT engines, radiators, gensets, and related freight
• Operate double drop trailers between Lafayette and Monticello, IN
• Secure freight using chains and binders
• Complete live load and drop operations
• Perform multiple shuttle runs daily
• Maintain DOT compliance and safety standards
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and onsite operations

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience
• Minimum 6 months verified flatbed experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 6 months securement training using chains and binders
• Must be available for occasional Saturday work
• Ability to safely handle specialized heavy freight

Compensation & Benefits

• 1st shift pay: $25/hour
• 2nd shift pay: $27/hour
• New hire transition bonus: $500
  • Paid in full on second paycheck
• Sign-on bonus: $3,000 total
  • $1,000 on second paycheck
  • $1,000 after 60 days
  • $1,000 after 120 days

Schedule & Home Time

• Monday-Friday schedules
• Some Saturday work may be required
• 1st shift:
  • 6:00 AM-6:00 PM
• 2nd shift:
  • 12:30 PM-8:30 PM
• Hours may vary based on freight demand
• Home every weekend
• Some drivers may be home during the week depending on location

Freight & Route Information

• Shuttle operation between Lafayette and Monticello, IN
• Average 2-3 round trips daily
• Approximately 50-mile round trips
• Live loading and drop operations
• Drivers return completed units between facilities

Equipment

• 2016-2023 Kenworth trucks
• Double drop trailers
• Governed at 65 mph
• Onsite parking available
• Dedicated assigned equipment (not slip seat currently)

Orientation Information

• Drivers will attend orientation in Atlanta, GA
