Role Overview
A cloud infrastructure company is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to build production-grade software that programmatically interacts with Kubernetes environments. This role focuses on deep Kubernetes engineering, cluster-level debugging, infrastructure automation, and collaboration with both engineering teams and customers in a high-growth technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop production-grade software that interacts directly with Kubernetes clusters
- Manage Kubernetes cluster upgrades and lifecycle operations
- Debug node-level infrastructure issues within virtual machine environments
- Investigate and troubleshoot open-source dependencies and Kubernetes ecosystem tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure and cluster-related initiatives
- Support customers directly and contribute product-focused infrastructure decisions
- Own projects end-to-end within autonomous engineering cycles
- Contribute to infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience working with Kubernetes and production-grade software development
- Experience managing Kubernetes cluster upgrades
- Strong node-level debugging experience within VM environments
- Comfortable reviewing open-source repositories for troubleshooting and debugging
- Strong ownership mindset with experience managing software through production lifecycle
- Genuine interest in Kubernetes, infrastructure engineering, and developer tooling
- Ability to work onsite in New York, NY five days per week
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Go programming language
- Experience with GitOps workflows
- Open-source Kubernetes ecosystem contributions
- Experience building Kubernetes controllers
- Strong customer communication and collaboration skills
Compensation
- $200,000 - $270,000 base salary
