Role Overview

A cloud infrastructure company is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to build production-grade software that programmatically interacts with Kubernetes environments. This role focuses on deep Kubernetes engineering, cluster-level debugging, infrastructure automation, and collaboration with both engineering teams and customers in a high-growth technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade software that interacts directly with Kubernetes clusters
• Manage Kubernetes cluster upgrades and lifecycle operations
• Debug node-level infrastructure issues within virtual machine environments
• Investigate and troubleshoot open-source dependencies and Kubernetes ecosystem tools
• Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure and cluster-related initiatives
• Support customers directly and contribute product-focused infrastructure decisions
• Own projects end-to-end within autonomous engineering cycles
• Contribute to infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience working with Kubernetes and production-grade software development
• Experience managing Kubernetes cluster upgrades
• Strong node-level debugging experience within VM environments
• Comfortable reviewing open-source repositories for troubleshooting and debugging
• Strong ownership mindset with experience managing software through production lifecycle
• Genuine interest in Kubernetes, infrastructure engineering, and developer tooling
• Ability to work onsite in New York, NY five days per week

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Go programming language
• Experience with GitOps workflows
• Open-source Kubernetes ecosystem contributions
• Experience building Kubernetes controllers
• Strong customer communication and collaboration skills

Compensation

• $200,000 - $270,000 base salary
