Role Overview
A regional liquid tanker fleet is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for hazmat liquid freight operations running throughout the Midwest and surrounding regions. This position offers strong weekly mileage, premium pay opportunities, newer equipment, and additional incentives for experienced tanker and hazmat drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer hauling liquid hazmat freight
- Transport liquid tanker loads throughout regional lanes
- Load and unload tanker freight safely and efficiently
- Maintain DOT, hazmat, and tanker compliance standards
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and operations teams
- Safely manage regional delivery schedules and routes
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license required
- Tanker endorsement required
- Hazmat endorsement required
- TWIC card required
- Minimum 6 months previous liquid tanker experience preferred
- OR 24 months recent verifiable tractor-trailer experience required
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills
- Must live within:
- 70 miles of Chicago, IL
- OR 30 miles of Houston, TX
- Ability to secure manager-approved parking
- No pets or passengers
Compensation & Benefits
- Average weekly pay: $1,500-$1,900 gross
- Average annual pay: $79,000-$97,000 gross
- Average weekly miles: 2,200-2,500
- CPM pay based on experience
- Hazmat-certified premium pay available
- Loading and unloading pay
- Utilization incentive available
- Orientation pay provided
- Detention pay available
- Referral bonus: $1,500 total payout
- $750 at hire
- $750 after 90 days

Schedule & Home Time
- Regional operation
- Typical schedule varies
- Drivers generally out 7-10 days at a time
- Some stacked dispatch opportunities may allow additional home time during the week

- Additional areas as needed
Equipment
- 2019 and newer Mack and International trucks
- Governed at 65 mph pedal / 68 mph cruise
- Secure manager-approved parking required
