Role Overview

An advanced manufacturing and robotics company in Chatsworth, CA is seeking a Robotics Automation Test Engineer to lead validation, quality assurance, and release readiness for robotics and industrial automation systems operating in production environments.

This role is heavily focused on system-level testing, automation validation, and deployment readiness for hardware-integrated automation cells. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with robotics systems, troubleshooting integrated environments, and ensuring production systems meet reliability, performance, and safety standards before deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead validation and quality assurance efforts for robotics and automation platforms
  • Develop and maintain system test plans, validation procedures, and release criteria
  • Perform functional, system-level, and acceptance testing on automation cells
  • Evaluate release readiness for production deployments
  • Support deployment of software and control system updates
  • Improve automated testing workflows and validation coverage
  • Conduct testing on both development and live production systems
  • Troubleshoot integrated system issues involving software, robotics, and controls
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on system improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to testing and deployment reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
    OR equivalent practical experience
  • Experience testing software or automation systems
  • Experience developing test scripts, test plans, or validation procedures
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose issues across integrated hardware/software systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with robotics or industrial automation systems
  • Experience with hardware-integrated environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and controlled software releases
  • Experience supporting system rollouts and operational deployments
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced engineering environments
  • Exposure to production automation cells or industrial controls preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $115,000-$135,000 annually
