Role Overview

A regional retail freight operation is seeking CDL-A drivers based out of Joliet, IL for consistent regional routes throughout the Midwest. Drivers will haul dry freight to retail store locations while operating within a hands-on touch freight environment. This position offers strong weekly pay, weekly home time, and consistent freight volume for drivers comfortable with physical unloading responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport dry freight to retail store locations throughout the Midwest
• Deliver freight across WI, IA, MN, MI, IN, and Northern KY routes
• Unload freight using rollers at customer locations
• Complete an average of 3–5 stops per load
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Accurately maintain logs and delivery documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and store personnel

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Ability to handle touch freight and roller unload deliveries
• Comfortable operating regional Midwest routes
• Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance
• Ability to work within a physically active delivery environment
• Ability to operate safely in varying weather and traffic conditions

Compensation & Benefits

• Average weekly pay: $1,756
• Top 10% weekly pay: $1,949
• Average annual pay: $91,309
• Top 10% annual pay: $101,326
• CPM pay based on experience
• $340 load pay averaging 3 loads per week
• $25 backhaul pay

Pay Breakdown

• 0–6 months: $0.82 CPM
• 7–12 months: $0.83 CPM
• 13–24 months: $0.84 CPM
• 25–36 months: $0.85 CPM
• 37–48 months: $0.86 CPM
• 49–60 months: $0.87 CPM
• 61+ months: $0.88 CPM

Equipment

• Sleeper trucks with automatic transmissions
• Pulling 53' dry van trailers
• Drivers may take trucks home if parking is safe and secure

Schedule & Home Time

• Weekly 34-hour reset
• Home time typically falls on Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday
• Two schedule options:
  • Monday–Friday
  • Tuesday–Saturday
• Schedule assigned during interview process
