Role Overview
A dedicated CAT overnight shuttle operation in Lafayette, IN is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for local inventory shuttle routes between CAT facilities. Drivers will move CAT engines, radiators, gensets, and oversized industrial freight between lots located approximately 6 miles apart.
This is a high-hour local shuttle position offering daily home time, overtime pay, strong hourly earnings, and a substantial sign-on bonus package. Ideal for experienced flatbed and securement drivers looking for steady overnight work.
Key Responsibilities
- Shuttle CAT inventory between Lafayette facilities
- Haul engines, radiators, gensets, and oversized freight
- Operate double drop trailers safely and efficiently
- Perform live load and unload operations
- Secure freight using chains and binders
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain DOT compliance and safety standards
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and operations teams
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license required
- Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience
- Minimum 6 months verified flatbed experience within the last 3 years
- Minimum 6 months securement experience using chains and binders
- Ability to safely handle industrial freight and live load operations
- Comfortable working overnight schedules

Compensation & Benefits
- 1st shift pay: $25/hour
- 2nd shift pay: $27/hour
- 3rd shift pay: $28/hour
- Overtime paid after 40 hours
- Overtime rates:
- 1st shift: $37.50/hour
- 2nd shift: $40.50/hour
- 3rd shift: $42.00/hour
- Average annual pay: $80,000
- Average 50 hours weekly
- New hire transition bonus: $500
- Paid in full on second paycheck
- Sign-on bonus: $3,000 total
