Role Overview

A dedicated CAT overnight shuttle operation in Lafayette, IN is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for local inventory shuttle routes between CAT facilities. Drivers will move CAT engines, radiators, gensets, and oversized industrial freight between lots located approximately 6 miles apart.

This is a high-hour local shuttle position offering daily home time, overtime pay, strong hourly earnings, and a substantial sign-on bonus package. Ideal for experienced flatbed and securement drivers looking for steady overnight work.

Key Responsibilities

• Shuttle CAT inventory between Lafayette facilities
• Haul engines, radiators, gensets, and oversized freight
• Operate double drop trailers safely and efficiently
• Perform live load and unload operations
• Secure freight using chains and binders
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Maintain DOT compliance and safety standards
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and operations teams

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience
• Minimum 6 months verified flatbed experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 6 months securement experience using chains and binders
• Ability to safely handle industrial freight and live load operations
• Comfortable working overnight schedules

Compensation & Benefits

• 1st shift pay: $25/hour
• 2nd shift pay: $27/hour
• 3rd shift pay: $28/hour
• Overtime paid after 40 hours
• Overtime rates:
  • 1st shift: $37.50/hour
  • 2nd shift: $40.50/hour
  • 3rd shift: $42.00/hour
• Average annual pay: $80,000
• Average 50 hours weekly
