Role Overview

A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking experienced NDT X-Ray Level II Inspectors for a high-paying second shift opportunity in Cudahy, CA. This role supports the inspection and validation of highly engineered aerospace and industrial components using Film Radiographic NDT methods.

Compensation

  • Base pay: $35-$40/hour
  • Base annual compensation: $72,800-$83,200
  • Significant overtime available
  • Estimated total compensation: $120,050-$137,200 annually
  • Weekday overtime paid at time-and-a-half
  • Saturday overtime paid at double time

Shift Schedule

  • 2nd Shift:

    • Monday-Friday: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM
    • Overtime: 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Saturday:

    • 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Film Radiographic NDT inspection equipment
  • Interpret and evaluate radiographic inspection results for product acceptance or rejection
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and work instructions
  • Perform inspections on aerospace castings and components
  • Conduct equipment calibrations and standardizations
  • Complete all inspection documentation according to customer and company requirements
  • Identify material defects, irregularities, and non-conformance issues
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce inspection errors
  • Assist with development of new inspection techniques and procedures
  • Work closely with technical support teams and Level III inspectors
  • Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and aerospace manufacturing standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 4 years of casting experience required
  • Current NDT Level II Certification required
  • Proof of Radiography hours required
  • Strong understanding of radiographic inspection processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience working with highly engineered aerospace components
