We are seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to provide technical leadership across all phases of mining, from development to operations. The role will be hands-on, overseeing three operations in North America, primarily open pit with some underground exposure, ensuring excellence in mine planning, design, and resource management while collaborating closely with corporate teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mine planning, scheduling, and design across multiple operations.

  • Oversee development and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining.

  • Provide technical guidance on resource estimation, mine design, and operational optimisation.

  • Collaborate with corporate teams to align operational strategies with company objectives.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.

  • Mentor and develop site-based mining engineers and technical staff.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

  • Extensive experience across mine development, operations, planning, and resource management.

  • Hands-on experience in open pit mining; exposure to underground operations advantageous.

  • Proven ability to lead multi-site technical teams and deliver operational excellence.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in mine planning and scheduling software.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with corporate and site teams.
