About the job Principal Mining Engineer
We are seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to provide technical leadership across all phases of mining, from development to operations. The role will be hands-on, overseeing three operations in North America, primarily open pit with some underground exposure, ensuring excellence in mine planning, design, and resource management while collaborating closely with corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead mine planning, scheduling, and design across multiple operations.

Oversee development and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining.

Provide technical guidance on resource estimation, mine design, and operational optimisation.

Collaborate with corporate teams to align operational strategies with company objectives.

Monitor key performance indicators and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Mentor and develop site-based mining engineers and technical staff.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

Extensive experience across mine development, operations, planning, and resource management.

Hands-on experience in open pit mining; exposure to underground operations advantageous.

Proven ability to lead multi-site technical teams and deliver operational excellence.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
