Operations Manager
Job Description:
Provide strategic and operational leadership across Mining, Processing and Maintenance while driving operational improvement, cultural development and long term growth. The role will ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective delivery of site objectives while strengthening collaboration, accountability, operational discipline and workforce capability.

Accountabilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Mining, Processing and Maintenance.
- Deliver safe, reliable and cost effective operational performance.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives focused on productivity, reliability, asset utilisation and production consistency.
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Develop and mentor operational leaders while strengthening succession planning across the workforce.
- Build trust and engagement through visible, approachable and consistent leadership.
- Ensure effective integration between Mining, Processing, Maintenance and Technical Services.
- Improve communication, collaboration and alignment between operational departments.
- Maintain strong safety, environmental and operational risk management standards.
- Oversee maintenance and reliability strategies to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.
- Challenge existing practices and implement practical improvements where required.
- Manage operational budgets, forecasts and cost control initiatives.
- Lead operational and capital projects within approved scope, schedule and budget.
- Support long term planning, operational optimisation and future growth initiatives.
- Identify and develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring and clear accountability.
- Support the General Manager in strengthening overall site performance and leadership continuity.
- Act as the senior site leader when required.
- Contribute to mine life extension, future development and sustained operational success.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of mining industry experience.
- At least 10 years of leadership experience within large scale mining operations.
- Demonstrated success managing complex operations with accountability for safety, production and financial performance.
- Strong operational experience across Mining, Processing and Maintenance.
- Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring capability.
- Experience leading operational turnarounds, performance improvement or transformation programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to build accountability, ownership and positive cultural change.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Visible leadership style with a strong and consistent site presence.
- Ability to influence and align operational, technical and corporate stakeholders.
- Potential to progress into broader senior operational leadership positions.
