Senior Long Term Planning Enigneer

We are seeking a Senior Long Term Planning Engineer with strong Deswik expertise and underground operations experience. This hands-on role will develop and manage long-term mine plans, optimise scheduling, and provide technical guidance while mentoring junior planners and supporting operational excellence across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain long-term mine plans using Deswik or equivalent software.

• Optimise underground operations through scheduling, resource allocation, and scenario modelling.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior planning engineers.

• Collaborate closely with operations, geology, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of long-term plans with operational objectives.

• Monitor performance, analyse production data, and recommend improvements to maximise efficiency.

• Support risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance in planning processes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the planning team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

• Extensive experience in underground mine planning and long-term scheduling.

• Strong proficiency in Deswik software; experience with other mine planning tools advantageous.

• Proven experience mentoring and developing junior planning staff.

• Hands-on understanding of underground mining operations, equipment, and methods.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
