We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead and enhance geotechnical excellence across multiple open-pit mining operations. The role provides strategic oversight, technical leadership, and mentorship to ensure optimal pit stability, slope design, and risk management across diverse sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement geotechnical standards across all open-pit operations.

  • Provide expert technical support to optimise pit stability, slope design, and operational risk management.

  • Develop and refine tools, systems, and methodologies to drive best practices in geotechnical operations.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop site-based geotechnical teams, fostering innovation and technical excellence.

  • Oversee geotechnical risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations to enhance safety and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to align geotechnical strategies with business objectives.


Role Requirements:

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degrees advantageous.

  • Minimum 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a strong focus on open-pit operations.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement geotechnical standards across multiple sites.

  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and managing technical teams in diverse locations.

  • Willingness to travel extensively to oversee and support operations.
