We are seeking an experienced Underground Technical Services Manager for a FIFO role in Africa, focused on precious metals. The role will lead and optimise underground technical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while supporting mine planning, geology, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead technical services for underground mining, integrating mine planning, geology, and engineering functions.

Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and technicians to support daily operations.

Develop and oversee short- and long-term mine plans, ensuring alignment with production and cost objectives.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to address operational challenges and improve processes.

Lead design reviews, mine development plans, and equipment performance assessments to optimise operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of safety, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree advantageous.

Extensive underground mining experience, ideally in precious metals.

Proven experience leading technical teams in remote or FIFO environments.

Strong understanding of mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, MineSight) and geological data integration.

In-depth knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and safety standards.

Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
