A growing gold company is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to lead the operational development of a newly acquired project. This role will oversee start-up and commissioning, stabilise operations, drive production targets, and identify growth opportunities including M&A initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:

Lead the transition from start-up to stable production, ensuring operational discipline and delivery of production targets.

Provide technical oversight across mining engineering, geology, and production teams.

Establish a high-performing operational culture that balances local team development with corporate alignment.
Strategic Development:

Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, supporting feasibility assessments and potential acquisitions.

Contribute to strategic decision-making at the executive level, aligning operational execution with broader corporate objectives.

Build self-sustaining operational models suitable for a mid-cap, growth-focused company.
Team and Culture:

Develop and mentor operational teams, enhancing capability, performance, and cross-cultural integration.

Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with corporate leadership and local teams to ensure alignment and operational excellence.
Compliance and Reporting:

Key Requirements:

Proven executive experience in a mid-cap or growth-focused mining environment.

Track record of delivering production success, building operational teams, and stabilising early-stage projects.

Strong understanding of both open pit and underground operations.

Demonstrated ability to drive cultural integration and high-performance operational practices.

Ability to travel regularly to operational sites as required.
