About the job Senior UG Mining Engineer
An established mining company is seeking a Senior Expat Underground Engineer to provide technical leadership in underground mining operations. This role focuses on stope design, production scheduling, and drill and blast planning, utilising advanced mine planning software to optimise operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage underground mine planning activities, including stope design and sequencing to optimise production.

Develop and oversee drill and blast designs and schedules, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Utilise Deswik or equivalent mine planning tools for design, scheduling, and reporting.

Collaborate with operations, geology, and safety teams to integrate planning and execution.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production teams.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Mentor and develop local engineers and technical staff.

Prepare technical reports, mine plans, and presentations for senior management.

Support operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

Minimum 8 years of underground mining engineering experience.

Proven experience in stope design, production scheduling, and drill and blast planning.

Strong proficiency in Deswik software; experience with other mine planning tools is advantageous.

Expatriate experience in mining environments preferred.
