Resource Geology Specialist (Senior)

 Job Description:

Provide group wide leadership across geological modelling, Mineral Resource estimation and public reporting. The role will connect geological interpretation and resource confidence with drilling strategy, reserve conversion, Life of Mine planning and investment decisions.

An established Australian gold producer with multiple underground operations and a growing portfolio across several mining regions. The position is based at corporate headquarters with regular engagement across operating sites.


Accountabilities

  • Coordinate geological modelling and Mineral Resource estimation across the operating portfolio.
  • Build, review and validate geological and resource models across multiple deposits.
  • Support the preparation and governance of JORC Mineral Resource Statements.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality, estimation methodology and technical documentation.
  • Provide geological input into reserve conversion, mine design and Life of Mine planning.
  • Identify geological uncertainty, resource risk and opportunities for additional value.
  • Support drilling strategy and prioritisation of resource definition and growth programmes.
  • Evaluate how drilling outcomes affect confidence, classification and development decisions.
  • Partner with site geology and technical services teams to improve interpretation, modelling and planning inputs.
  • Promote consistent resource governance, processes and technical standards.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, due diligence and portfolio investment decisions.
  • Mentor geologists and provide clear technical advice to senior leadership.


Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
  • Significant gold resource modelling and Mineral Resource estimation experience.
  • Strong geological interpretation, domaining and three dimensional modelling capability.
  • Practical experience with recognised resource modelling software such as Leapfrog and Surpac.
  • Sound knowledge of geostatistics, estimation methodologies and resource classification.
  • Strong understanding of JORC reporting and Mineral Resource Statements.
  • Experience supporting resource conversion, mine planning and Life of Mine processes.
  • Underground gold experience across multiple orebody styles is highly regarded.
  • Eligibility for membership of an appropriate recognised professional organisation.
