JOB PURPOSE

As the Buyer, your main responsibilities will include sourcing and purchasing goods, negotiating with suppliers, verifying purchase requests and purchase orders, and ensuring timely procurement of required items. You will also support other departments with purchasing procedures and maintain accurate and up-to-date information regarding store inventory and supplier records.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • To be present on duty in immaculate uniform, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • To be smart, friendly, organized, and firm in dealing with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Receive and review purchase requests from various departments in a timely manner.
  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations for required goods and services.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards with suppliers.
  • Prepare and verify Purchase Orders accurately according to company procedures and approval processes.
  • Ensure all purchases are made in line with budget, quality standards, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of suppliers, pricing, and purchasing transactions.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with Stores to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Conduct market surveys to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of delivered items together with the receiving/store team where applicable.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments regarding purchasing procedures and order status.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures at all times.
  • Keep the immediate Supervisor/Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action that may be taken.

YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Buyer in a 5 star hotel or in a reputed company
  • Ability to speak, read, write advanced level of Kurdish, Arabic and English
  • Effective communication skills and pleasant personality are a must.
  • Very energetic, flexible and can handle pressure
  • Be fully conversant with health and safety procedures and emergency procedures
