Job Description – AV Technician
Position Summary
The AV Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all audio-visual equipment within the hotel. The role ensures that meetings, conferences, events, presentations, and other hotel activities are supported with reliable and high-quality audio-visual services.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, events, and presentations.
- Operate and maintain projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers, LED displays, and other AV equipment.
- Test all equipment before events to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems.
- Provide technical support to hotel departments, guests, and event organizers when required.
- Ensure microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, and other equipment are properly positioned and configured.
- Maintain and organize AV equipment, cables, accessories, and storage areas.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of AV equipment.
- Report damaged, faulty, or missing equipment to the relevant supervisor.
- Assist with the setup of conference rooms, meeting rooms, ballrooms, and other event spaces.
- Coordinate with Events, F&B, Engineering, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and accessories.
- Follow hotel safety procedures and ensure all equipment is used safely.
- Keep up to date with new AV technologies and equipment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an AV Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a hotel, conference center, or event environment.
- Good knowledge of audio-visual equipment and systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and technical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio and video equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet event deadlines.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Good teamwork and organizational skills.
- Good command of English, additional languages are an advantage.
