JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:
The Laundry Operation Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel laundry, ensuring all guest laundry, hotel linen, and uniforms are handled efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong operational knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to lead the laundry team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laundry team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely handling of guest laundry, including washing, drying, pressing, packing, and delivery.
  • Oversee the processing of hotel linen and staff uniforms to meet brand quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage the proper use of laundry chemicals, dosing systems, and equipment.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of laundry machines, including washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and steam presses.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain hygiene, stain removal, and finish standards.
  • Maintain inventory of chemicals, supplies, and linen; report shortages promptly.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training, performance support, and maintaining good team morale.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Report any machine breakdowns or maintenance needs to Engineering in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement in laundry processes and cost control.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2, 3 years of experience in hotel laundry operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role (preferred).
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of guest laundry handling, stain treatment, fabric types, and pressing standards.
  • Thorough operational understanding of laundry machinery, chemical usage, hygiene standards, and workflow processes.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to chemicals and equipment operation.
